I feel 100% obligated to leave this review, because I feel police and first responders don't always get the credit they deserve.
Thanks for serving our community.
I called about a complaint and the response was rapid and the officer who contacted me was very well spoken and uber nice. I do believe Bella Vista Dr. to Cherry St could use more police presence to slow down the speeders and the community park could use a couple of police cameras in the parking area to prevent car break-ins. Besides that, so far the local police are very nice as I have encountered them at the downtown summer concerts. If you're not a law breaker or give them attitude, you should not ever have to worry about them bothering you. Act like an idiot and you'll get what you deserve. They deal with the worst of people all the time, so cut them a break and show some respect and be greatfull they may one day save your life or someone you know.
I was bringing the kids in the house when I arrive home and an officer walked up and asked if I had a few moments. I said sure, he asked me about my neighbor, he said that the recreation center has noticed he had been feeling down as of late and wanted to make sure he was okay.
I thought that was the coolest thing ever, and makes me feel great about the community that I live in.
I felt leaving a review for a police station very odd, really who is going to read a review prior to heading to the police station.
One evening about a month ago I got a late night knock at my door. It was an officer letting me know that a light was on in my car, and he had noticed while driving through the area. He saved me from a dead battery. I was also pulled over for a broken headlight, the officer was extremely friendly, and the SRO is great as well. Have only had professional, positive interactions. Great department.
Yet, like I said above. Police officers are often cast in a negative light and I want to show that there is some genuine good.
Louisville's Finest doesn't do these brave men and women enough credit. Each and every one of these people are salt of the Earth. We the citizens are fortunate enough to have these courageous men and women step forward and protect and serve our local community. Thank you all for your service.
I want to start off that the department at least hears what I have to say when I go to the station, but today an officer responded to a call involving me not moving a tow behind and a right of road for construction and a permit that was not on site. Well the officer responded today in doing his job requested that I do something illegal to solve the problem that was at hand. Although trying to help in my situation and being told to park at a stop sign and he gave me permission to do so. Now my reason for posting this is our public safety officers are 1. To uphold and protect the law and 2. Not prompt or promote the acts of breaking the law. While no harm is done to anyone and myself not taking the advice of the officer I have saved myself a ticket with another cop. Be accountable for the actions you take and if a peace office do not promote other acts of breaking the law.
